May your heart be free… May your imagination run wild…

And may your spirit never be tamed.

Ride Above Disability Therapeutic Riding Center is a PATH (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) member center that teaches recreational riding to children and adults of all ages with special needs. The idea behind Ride Above was to create a place where the entire family unit could come and feel welcome, relax and enjoy their time at the ranch. While special needs riders are our focus, we also teach siblings and parents who are interested, which gives our families an activity they can share together.

Ride Above is a place for family and community, not just for our students but our volunteers and instructors as well. Everyone at Ride Above is committed to changing lives for the better, no matter who you are. We look at every person that is involved and see ability. With a dedicated staff, Ride Above Disability strives to make a difference in the lives of our riders as well as the community of San Diego.

CHESTNUT QUARTER HORSE

I’ve lived a fantastic, adventurous life with my family but as I’m getting older it’s time to slow down. I’ve done backpacking in Montana, I love going to the beach, I can do trail challenges, gymkhanas…insert thing you would do with a horse, I can do it! My kind, gentle nature really comes out when I’m around young riders, I love to take care of them and help them learn and grow. I love taking naps while getting groomed and snuggling with anyone willing to snuggle.

Sponsored by: Cay & Heidi Bohnsack

Ride Above has been a source of honor and pride for both Cay and his wife Heidi to participate in while giving back to the San Diego area community where they live, work and play. While Cay provides financial sponsorship, Heidi is often found at the ranch as a volunteer.

We will contribute $200 for every closed transaction we do to Ride Above Disabilities.

"Thank you for supporting a cause that is near and dear to our hearts."
